The coffee table book is so much more than a book, The MUSE adores them.
They are a source of inspiration, a keeper of memories, a conversation starter, a reference, an object of art. and for me a decor essential.
They bring a room together, and give it personality. it indicates a level of sophistication of its owner, a fetish object which ideally turns the sophistication dial up to “high.”.
Memory keeper - A perfect example I purchased this beautiful book in Bounconvento, Italy, met the author/photographer, got the story behind the book, and now I have that forever.
The books you have around you home gives an insight to who you are, stylistically - Intellectually - Emotionally - So be careful what you have at the top of the stack, it can say much about you. Displaying coffee table books is, thus, essentially an invitation to people to judge you (In a good way).

To get the most out of your books, presentation matters, stacked in straight lines, colour blocked, subject themed, craft, fashion, art, sports, interior, vintage collections.
Sourcing books is fun, they are everywhere, online, at your local book store, what you can pay for the can vary hugely, I love finding them at the market or charity stores, most times I remove the cover, under the tatty dust jacket is often a fabulous linen with gold embossed print.
Be gone tatty cover and cluttered text.
Open the books, they are to be seen, and changed around often, let them reflect your mood, or use them to change your mood.
So go ahead add to your collection, use them as your own unmistakable signature in your home.
Collect the blues....but don't get them!
